Mark - I downloaded the new quote module and your programmer has left a bug in the program. On downloading Yahoo Historical prices on all investment symbols I see a strange artifact that says "GETTING CRUMB" and then process quits with end message that says no prices have been updated. I am running fm2014 quote module 515|Fred Cook
Hi mogul456,
- What is an example ticker symbol that won't update? - What exact quote server are you using? (Yahoo (Historical) or Yahoo (Adjusted Historical)) - What date range are you requesting? - In FM 2014, make sure you have FM 2014.13.8 and that "Options / Internet Settings... / Proxy Server / Use Windows Settings" is enabled.
The problem is in some version of 515 that I mistakenly downloaded. The server is YAHOO HISTORICAL,any symbol will due to recreate the "GETTING CRUMB" , check with the programmer. I usually skip the option to download a module for a week to allow you to fix any bugs in the initial release of a module but I stupidly hit yes on the first offer.
Hi mogul456,
The "GETTING CRUMB" is normal/expected when using 515 with either of the historical Yahoo servers. If you're still not able to get historical quotes, please answer the questions in my prior post.
Mark,
I'm seeing the same problem with the attempts to retrieve Historical Prices using 2014.13.8. I'm using quote module 515 and transaction module 223. I'm using quote server Yahoo (Historical). I'm requesting date range 5/16/17 - 5/17/17. I have options set to use "Windows Settings" for proxy. FSTVX & TIP are two of the 8 symbols for which I'm requesting prices. The log states: Could not update any investments WARNING: Server used but did not update any prices: (YAHOO-HISTORICAL) -- Max
I'm getting the same message in Advisor Version 2016.14.14.100 Quote Model 515. (Could not update any investments) when trying to get historical prices for the Russell 3000 Index from Yahoo Historical. Symbol is ^RUA.

Just retried importing the prices and it worked. Wondering was it Yahoo or FundManager that had the problem?

It appears there is an issue with 515 when the first retrieved price fails, like because of an invalid symbol. We are investigating a fix. For now, if you eliminate any symbols from retrieving that aren't valid on Yahoo, that should help resolve any errors with 515.
We have just released quote module 516 to address this issue. Please update to this version, and let me know if you still have troubles with either of these quote servers.
I have updated to Quote Model 516 and the downloads for Symbols IYR and DJP are still showing as "Could Not Update" for prices starting on 5/15.

I just tested IYR using 516 and a date range of 5/15/17-5/18/17 and it updated 3 days properly using Yahoo (Historical). What version of the Fund Manager program are you using? See "Help / About...".

Hi ricbertsch,
Can you please try these steps: 1) Re-download and install 2016.14.14 from our site here: https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/download.html I just want to make sure you have the official 2016.14.14, and not a pre-release we may have sent you. After installing you will need to do "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates..." to get the current quote (516) and transaction (223) modules again. 2) Start up Internet Explorer and make sure you have cookies enabled. See "Tools / Internet Options... / Privacy". If you do both of these, and still cannot retrieve from Yahoo (Historical) please give me a call at 480-705-0129.
Mark,
I have the same problem retrieving quote from Yahoo (historical). I'm running Personal 2016.14.14, Transaction 223, Quote 516. When I retrieve historical quotes, FM got some bytes from the Yahoo (historical) server, then a popup message 'could not update any investment' showed up. No historical prices were actually retrieved. Please fix this issue ASAP. Thanks. Tom Lee
