Transfer Investment from one portfolio to another

I have a couple of IRA/401k accounts with Fidelity. I recently closed out a 401k and rolled it into my IRA. Because the same fund I had in my 401k was available in the IRA, it could move "in place," that is without having to sell it and buy it again. They just transferred the position. These two accounts are in two separate subportfolios. Is the best way to handle this with Transfer Out/Transfer set of transactions?
Hi rwcrooks,
Yes. You can use the "Transfer Between" wizard to do this for you. Just right mouse click on the source investment, and choose "Investment Data / Transfer Between..." and fill out that dialog. It will record a single Transfer Out, plus 1 Transfer In for each lot you are transferring, so as to maintain your cost basis information.
Hi flight,
Yes, you should fill in the market value on the date the shares were transferred.
