Import Generic Prices

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Marc Leutscher » Fri Sep 02, 2016 7:36 am

I'am trying to import the attached price file. I have tried every combination of Input Format, but with no success.

I think it should be:

SYMB,YY-MM-DD,XX,OO,HH,LL,NAV,VV

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Marc,

Here are the first few lines of your file:

<TICKER>,<DTYYYY-MM-DD>,<TIME>,<OPEN>,<HIGH>,<LOW>,<CLOSE>,<VOL>
HPQ,2013-09-03,00:00,22.49,22.7,22.3,22.37,13704235
HPQ,2013-09-04,00:00,22.36,22.62,22.27,22.27,13738121

So, you would want to import with the input format string of:

SYMB,YY-MM-DD,XX,OO,HH,LL,NAV,VV

That looks like what you had, so I double checked and imported this here. It imported fine. Make sure you have either an existing investment with the symbol of HPQ, or have on the option in the import dialog to create new investments as needed if you want to create a new investment for HPQ.

If you still have troubles, please let me know what error message you're receiving. To see the imported prices use the Data Register with the data type of "Prices".
Thanks,
Mark

Many thanks, Mark. I did not have any investment for that ticker. Creating a new investment worked fine.

Thanks,
Marc
