Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby gcm223 » Wed Jan 06, 2016 5:23 am

I am having problems with the cash portion of the download.

Schwab recently changed it's money market product and they now use Schwab Bank as their sweep vehicle. The transactions are not posting to the portfolios.

Can you check on this with Schwab? Thanks

Hi gcm223,

Which transactions are not posting? All of them, or just your cash transactions? Do you see them in the Preview Importing Transactions dialog? If you have a transaction that is missing from the Preview Importing Transactions dialog, go see if it is in your *.TRN file by opening up that file in a text editor, like Notepad. If you can see the transaction in your *.TRN file, but it isn't in the Preview Importing Transactions dialog, check all the filters in the import dialog, to make sure it isn't being filtered out like by account number, date, and make sure the transaction isn't already in Fund Manager. If you still don't see the transaction, please email me the *.TRN file, along with a specific example of a transaction that won't import.
Thanks,
Mark

The problem continues.

Money Market interest is not posting to the cash account and the proceeds from buy/sale transactions are not posting to the cash account. This all started when Schwab changed its money market to a "Bank Sweep" type of account and got rid of their standard money market accounts.

Hi gcm223,

Do you have a default cash account assigned to your sub-portfolios? When you import, are you leaving the option "Record Corresponding Entry in Default Cash Account" checked?
Thanks,
Mark

I do have a cash default for all my sub accounts.

That box is not checked.

Please check that option. Without that checked, no "default cash account" transactions will be recorded by Fund Manager.
Thanks,
Mark
