Dividend not showing in cash account

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby mli2001 » Thu Dec 24, 2015 8:51 am

Hello, I am using the 2014 version and just noticed a strange behavior. Many stocks have the same dividend amount. To save time, I manually copy and paste exiting dividend entries, then I only need to change the dates in them. This works but the entries does not always show up in the cash account. It is very frustrating have to re-enter them.
Thanks

Hi mli2001,

You have control over whether a pasted transaction gets a corresponding default cash account entry. Check 2 things:

1) The investment you're pasting into is located in a portfolio that has a default cash account assigned. See the "Properties..." of the portfolio to verify/edit this.

2) Check "Options / General Preferences... / Other / Prompt Before Pasting Prices/Transactions" is turned on. When you get prompted, there is an option of whether or not to record a corresponding entry in the default cash account. Make sure you check this if you want that.
Thanks,
Mark
