Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby rungsun » Mon Feb 20, 2012 12:20 am

Hi Mark,

Today I cannot get price update from bloomberg for my Thailand Stock. However, the bloomberg historical is still working okay.

I check the quote server status, it says "working". Pls help to check.

Hi rungsun,

Thanks for the notice.

The internet price retrieve module has been updated. Version 428 is available by selecting "Help / Fund Manager on the Web / Check for Updates..." from within Fund Manager. This update fixes the Bloomberg server due to a format change.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

After monitor for another week, I noticed that price update has another problem in morning session. I am in AP regional (Thailand) and found that cannot get any quote update during morning with no error but change effect to yesterday date.

e.g. today is Mar 2nd, I get update at 10:30 am but the prices were not update on Mar 2nd and notice changed on Mar 1st instead.

I am not sure if this because of timezone?

Best Regards,
Rungsun

Hi Rungsun,

I believe it is related to timezones. If you look at a quote on Bloomberg, you will see they quote the last update in EST time zone. This is the date that Fund Manager uses to update your quotes. If you are in a significantly different timezone, Bloomberg may be reporting the date for day X, but you may already be in day X+1. We are looking into updating this, so that it updates for your time zone. For the time being, you can force FM to use the "default date" to update. See:

http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/intr ... efaultDate

and create a string value named "force_def_date" and set it to a value of 1. This will force FM to update prices for your "default date", which is the current date of your computer.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Rungsun,

We've updated the quote module (429) to support an hour offset for the Bloomberg quote server. You may find this more useful than forcing the default date. For instructions, please see:
