transaction retrieve settings

Where does Fund Manager keep the account number, user id, and password used in the transaction retrieve settings ? I keep all my data on a removable drive, and in an abundance of paranoia I'm concerned about these being out on my hard drive somewhere.

Hi Oscar,

Your transaction retrieve settings are stored in your portfolio file (*.mm4). This information is stored in an encrypted manner in this file. Also, if you leave the password empty, Fund Manager will prompt you for it each time you retrieve, and not store it in your portfolio file.

I also noticed that there are 3 files

ofxmemtrandump.txt
ofxpost.txt
xmldump.txt

that contain account # and/or userid. Is there any way to specify where these files are created/kept, or some other way not to have this info on my C drive ?
Or maybe in the future some way of encrypting these files ?

Hi Oscar,

Yes, those are the log files from your latest retrieve. We have some information about these log files at the bottom of this page, in the "Technical Details" section:

You bring up a good point. Unfortunately there is currently no way to control this location, or whether they are created or not. We will look into adding an option to delete these log files after each use. Currently, they are over-written each time you do a retrieve.
