Dumb question can not find historical on new investment

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby davephx » Fri Aug 20, 2010 12:07 am

The manual seems very clear but I have right clicked on every possible screen that shows any investments and simply can not find (blind?) where the right "right mouse" popup menu is. I simply see no popup that has the option.

I can get manual price screens and can update new investments by updating all (which takes lots of time to duplicate what all ready have just to get a new investment historical data as I go back 3 years.

Here is the clear direction I can not find the right click popup for in "any" window:

"To retrieve prices for only select investments, use the Retrieve Selected (Historical) Prices commands from the right mouse popup menu. These menu commands will be available when right mouse clicking on one or more investments in any of the windows."

But after an hour of tearing hair out can't get this popup.

Using Fund Manager Personal with all the latest updates.

Hi davephx,

Try this:

1) Open up the Portfolio Editor window. If it isn't already open, you can open it with "View / Portfolio Editor". This is the window with the portfolio hierarchy on the left, and then contents of whatever is selected on the left are shown in a list view on the right.

2) Select the sub-portfolio containing the investment you want to update, so you see this investment listed on the right side of the window.

3) Right mouse click on this investment on the right, and when you do a menu should appear. (I assume you are running on Windows, and not a Mac or Linux). This menu will have several commands, and the 5th one down says "Retrieve Selected Historical Prices". Left mouse click on this choice to run it.
Thanks,
Mark
