Issue with Mutual Fund Schemes Not Updating

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby sreedharvreddy » Sun Sep 14, 2025 1:30 am

Hi Mark,

I am facing an issue where my Mutual Fund schemes listed in India are not getting updated when I try to retrieve their prices from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) quote server. I have been facing this issue since 12-Sep-25.

Could you please look into this?

Thanks,
Sreedhar

Hi Sreedhar,

Thanks, I see this too. Their site has changed. We'll investigate...
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Sreedhar,

Unfortunately it will be rather difficult to fix this server, as they're providing downloads in a .xlsx file format, instead of something like json or csv. Maybe your quotes are available on another quote server? If not, here is how you can download/import from AMFI:

1) Use your web browser and go here to download all pricing for a date you choose. This will download the file Nav-Download.xlsx.

2) Open this downloaded file up in Excel or Google Sheets and save it to a CSV file. In Google Sheets you open this file (File / Open... / Upload), and then use "File / Download / Comma Separated Values (.csv)" to save that file in CSV format. Save it to Nav-Download.csv.

3) In Fund Manager use "File / Import / Prices / Generic..." with these settings:

Specify Date: OFF
Specify Symbol: OFF
Input Format: XX,XX,XX,XX,XX,XX,XX,XX,SYMB,XX,YY-MM-DD,NAV,XX
File to Import: <browse to where you saved Nav-Download.csv>
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I believe the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) quote server is now providing downloads in CSV format. However, I noticed that FundManager is not showing AMFI quote server in the available list. Could you please add it back?

Thanks,
Sreedhar

Hi Sreedhar,

I still only see a download in .xlsx format. Can you point me to where you're seeing the CSV download option?
Thanks,
Mark

Sorry, I may be wrong about AMFI providing a CSV download. Alternatively, can you please check the following India-based mutual funds JSON API and enable it in Fund Manager as an additional/alternative data source to AMFI?

Latest NAV (current price):
https://api.mfapi.in/mf/<symbol>/latest

Historical NAVs:
https://api.mfapi.in/mf/<symbol>

Examples:

https://api.mfapi.in/mf/147946/latest
https://api.mfapi.in/mf/147946

Website reference: https://www.mfapi.in/

Currently, I do not see any quote server available to get the quotes for India-based mutual fund schemes in Fund Manager. Yahoo and Yahoo (Historical) servers are updating India based mutual fund prices only after one or two days, but not all schemes are listed there. Having MFAPI enabled would make it much easier to track Indian mutual funds.

Thanks,
Sreedhar

Hi Sreedhar,

Interesting, thanks for sharing that on the mfapi.in site. We'll investigate, and see about adding it.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Sreedhar,

We have just released quote module 629 which adds support for the 2 new quote servers:

Mutual Funds India
Mutual Funds India (Historical)

Please see the instructions for using these quote servers.

You can get this updated quote module now by selecting "Help / Fund Manager on the Web / Check for Updates..." from within Fund Manager 2024 or 2026.
Thanks,
Mark
