Sorry if this has been addressed before, but I've been searching help and the message board for about an hour and have not found the answer.
When updating historical prices yesterday, I noticed something that I had not noticed before. The (YAHOO-HISTORICAL) price update was asking me if I wanted to download splits and distributions and for the distributions how I wanted to record them (Reinvested, Reinvested (Full Shares Only), or Distributed). (I did do a module update yesterday - not sure if my DEFAULT server changed.) FM does NOT as these questions if the HISTORICAL-ADJUSTED server is the default.
It got me questioning myself and what the appropriate method is - and I was looking for an explanation.
If i use HISTORICAL, I would think I would get the actual reported price for any day. If (my broker) reports all splits and distributions (dividends, other), I would think maybe the appropriate selection is HISTORICAL, and then deselect the download of "Splits and Distributions"?
(I tend to download prices using the historic server after month end (as statements start to flow) and likely had HISTORICAL-ADJUSTED selected as the server, which would explain why I had not noticed this in the past. My prices would be accurate since done close to month end.)
Thanks for any assistance.
