^NYFANG retrieval

Hi, I am trying to import the Fang index in my portfolio.

I succeded with Yahoo server to have the daily quote, but I didn't manage to find a way to import historical values, as Yahoo Historical doesn't update my file.

Suggestions ?

Hi Giovanni,

Yes, if you look on Yahoo's site, they don't have historical data for this index. Fortunately, WSJ does. If you use Wall Street Journal (Historical) with the symbol:

index/XX/ARCX/NYFANG

You can retrieve historical prices for this index. You can also set this index to use Wall Street Journal for the current price. For more on using the Wall Street Journal quote server, see this.

I had tried with WSJ before calling for support , but the string I was able to build was not sophisticated enough !
