Transfer Investment from one portfolio to another

Mark; I read and tried to do this but did not succeed. Can you give me instructions for how to take one symbol from an IRA account with all the concurrent data and transfer it into a new Roth account

Are you trying to move an investment? If so, just use drag/drop in the Portfolio Editor to drag it from one sub-portfolio to the other. Select the parent sub-portfolio of what you want to move, so you see the item listed on the right. Drag it from the list on the right and drop it onto the desired destination sub-portfolio on the left. This moves the whole investment, and its complete history from one sub-portfolio to another.

Maybe you want to create a duplicate of an existing symbol, so you can record a new set of transactions in another account? If so, use "File / File Operations / New Investment from Exiting..." Choose the desired options in there.

Or, maybe you are asking how to transfer all the shares from one account to another as of a certain date? If so, right mouse click on the source investment and choose "Investment Data / Transfer Between..." and fill out that dialog.
