Investment overlay

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager graphs.

Postby faezandyc » Fri May 01, 2009 10:07 pm

When using the investment overlay graph I noticed that the investments are not normalized. That is, instead of starting at 100% for the period I choose, one will start at 102%, another at 103% and the third at 99%.

I've used this graph before but perhaps not with this version of FM. I'm presently using version 9.5 (personal version).

Hi Andy,

The reason for this is that this graph is inclusive of gains/losses on the starting graph date. All investments are normalized to 100% as of the morning of the starting graph date (same as close of day prior), but the graph plots end of day normalized prices, so any changes happening on the starting graph date will offset the first plotted price from 100%.
Thanks,
Mark

Of course! Why didn't I think of that?

Thanks Mark.
