Moving Average Options

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager graphs.

Mark,

When using moving averages, it is highly useful to have 1 simple moving average for the shorter term, and perhaps 1 or 2 exponential moving averages for longer periods. Thus far, it only appears feasible to apply either 2 simple moving averages or 2 exponential moving averages. Is it possible to apply 1 SMA and 1 EMA to the same chart? If not, this would be a highly useful feature.

Hi SDS,

Thanks for the feedback. You're right, you can't have both SMA and EMA on the same graph at the same time.
Thanks,
Mark

Uh, how much would it cost to get this feature in place ASAP?

Hi SDS,

This is not a feature we'd consider adding before at least a 10.0 release, which is probably 1 1/2 years away. Even for 10.0 I cannot promise it will be added. We evaluate all feature requests/ideas, and implement the ones we believe will have the broadest benefit.

If you need this feature, we do offer custom programming services. Our rate is $150/hour, with a minimum of 8 hours. If you're interested in pursuing this, please email us. We will need to nail down an exact definition of work, and then we can give you a quote.
Thanks,
Mark
