using overlay graph to compare portfolio to index % growth

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager graphs.

Hello,

I am trying to compare a portfolio against an index for % growth using the overlay price & distributions graph option.
I get this image below:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6682545/FM_Overlay_Graphs.png

The problem is that , while the portfolio starts at 100% on the first date in the graph, the index S&P 500 starts at 101% (see red arrow in the image).

Could you please let me know how can I start both at 100% at the same date?
Thank you!
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

This graph includes changes on the starting report date. It does this for all lines. In your example the graph starts on 3/1/10, so any changes from 2/28 close to 3/1 close are included on the point plotted for 3/1. This is true for all lines. It just happens in this case that your "01 - Strategy" portfolio had no change from 2/28 to 3/1, so it is still 100 at the end of 3/1. The 100 point can be thought of as being implied to be plotted on 2/28 (the day prior to the graph's starting date).
Thanks,
Mark
