Is it possible to remove/hide zero value items from valuation reports?

Yes. You can either manually hide these investments, use the "File / File Operations / Hide Sold Investments...", or you can use the report preference: "Options / Report Preferences / General / Do Not Display Investments With Zero Share Balance". No matter which method you use, you must have "View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios" turned off, otherwise everything will always show.
Thanks,
Mark
