Report Totals don't add up

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby philstunell » Thu Oct 05, 2023 8:10 am

I am exploring how the create reports that show:-

1) The net cash flow (including contributions, redemptions, capital gains and distributions)
2) The total return (1) above + current value

I have created a sample report - shown - in the attachment - with a sample of two investments in a sub-portfolio (this excludes the default cash account)

The Total Redemptions is correct adding both line items together.

But the total contributions (purchases) only includes one of the two investments listed in the details.

The totals for 'net cash flow, and total return are affected by the error in Total Contributions.

Hi philstunell,

The Contributions, Withdrawals, and Withdrawn Distributions do not sum. Please see this documentation for a detailed explanation. These fields are calculated for each line item. For example, if you buy a stock and pay for it with cash, you'll see a contribution on the stock line, a withdrawal on the cash line, and zero at the portfolio level, as there was no external contribution/withdrawal at the portfolio level.

If you want the equivalent of Redemptions (btw), see "Purchases (btw)" or "Purchases Out of Pocket (btw)" instead.
Thanks,
Mark
