Long term portfolio performance--is ROI the right way?

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby tomseeley » Tue Apr 19, 2022 10:41 am

I think I know the answer to this but I'll ask anyway. I have years of data for every fund I've ever owned, and I want to know how it all has behaved over at least the past decade or so.

I think the best way to do it is to create a profile I'd call AllIn and load every investment I've owned over the desired time frame. I know that'll be a lot of data entry, but I'm up to it!

Then, once I've built that portfolio, I use the ROI report to see how it all has behaved over the past ten years; right?

Hi tomseeley,

Yes, ROI is an excellent measure of performance. If you've already recorded these investments in FM, there is no need to re-enter all of the historical data though?
Thanks,
Mark

Thank you. I’ve got most of the data entered so it won’t be a pblm to finish up the task.
