Hi Nick,

Do you mean a custom investment property? If so, you can edit these under the Options top level menu.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Nick,

To display any of the available fields just put a check mark next to that field. You can also reorder them so they display in the order you want. You can only choose from the list of available fields. You can't define or add new fields if that is what you're asking.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks

I thought here was where I could do something like showing how big my position is as a %age of a 10 day moving average of volume

Is it possible to do that?

Thanks

Nick.

Hi Nick,

You cannot define your own fields for the Portfolio Editor. In the Professional and Advisor versions you can define your own fields for the Custom Report. See the Define Fields... button in the dialog where you choose which fields to display in the Custom report.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark

Is it possible to have a field as described expressing a position as a percent of a moving average of volume (e,g, 10days) and display that in a graph please?

or would I need to set that up as a user defined field and then set up another field that would look at MAX of that field in a report? if I am looking at moving average excluding weekends is it

- Average(-10, 0, number, 0)

and what is daily trading volume please?

and what is the field for position in number of shares

Thanks

Nick.

Hi Nick,

You can't graph user-defined fields. These are only available in a Custom report. For help on using these, see the documentation here:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/hel ... ields.html

and for help on the AVERAGE function, see:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/hel ... ml#AVERAGE

and for help on using date arguments, see:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/hel ... _arguments

An example, might be:

AVERAGE(ENDDAYS() - 10, ENDDAYS(), End_volume, 0)

End_volume is the volume on ending date, and End_shares is the number of shares owned.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark

So - to get any historical context - one needs to run multiple custom reports and save the data out of FM?

Hi Nick,

Yes, you could do that, or you could create a single report with up to 6 date ranges.
Thanks,
Mark
