Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Hello-
I'm a newbie to serious investment software and need to be enlightened on some abbreviations.

What does Gain-F, Gain-I, Gain-AI and Gain-V mean (%signs omitted)?

Under Investment properties>Asset type, please confirm FI is fixed income and the words following (e.g. high-limited) refer to Quality and Interest rate sensitivity,

Thanks!

Hi MartyP,

Welcome. Here are some links to the documentation for these fields:

Gain-F is a share price based gain
Gain-I is a value based gain
Gain-AI: This is the Out Of Pocket gain, including Accrued Interest
Gain-V is a value based gain that only looks at the beginning/end values

None of the Gain based numbers are really time or money weighted. A better performance metric is yields, like the ROI Yield. The ROI Yield is a time and money weighted performance figure.

One good way to learn about these fields is from within a Custom Report. If you choose "Help / Help on Report..." you can see an exhaustive list of fields, and their definitions.

Yes, the FI is for fixed income and the following words are quality and then interest rate sensitivity.
Thanks,
Mark
