asterisk in price value fields (reports)

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby Erik » Mon Nov 27, 2017 8:32 am

I made a few custom reports which I plan to import into excel, and noticed that some of the prices in the "End NAV"-column are appended with an asterisk (*).

This renders these values useless for making calculations in excel (as it has become a string rather than a number).

Is there a way to get rid of the * asterix?

Hi Erik,

The asterisk is there to note that this price is "interpolated". That means you don't have a price recorded for the exact report date. You can either retrieve/record prices for that date, or run your report for a different date, where you do have recorded prices. You can see the recorded prices in the Data Register under the data type of "Prices".

The Advisor version does have an option to disable the display of this asterisks even if you are reporting using an interpolated price. See "Options / Report Preferences... / General / Show Asterisk When Interpolating Price".
Thanks,
Mark
