Custom Field Target Allocation

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby divinest » Tue Sep 26, 2017 5:21 pm

Hi Mark,

If i have target allocation, for instance position x of 10K, y of 5K, z of 2K and would like to know how much my position is deviated from my target allocation, i am setting the target value in the custom1 field of that position and using a custom defined field and creating a custom formula as (custom1-Value_AI_end) that seem to achieve my objective, however my question is, Is there a better way or recommended way to do this? Thanks much

ps: This FM is a wonderful software, allowing to customize to suit ones custom metrics.

Hi divenest,

You can use the Rebalance report. In the Personal/Professional versions you can create allocation targets by Asset Type, Investment Goal, Sector, Investment Type, or Currency. The Advisor version adds support for rebalancing against a designated "model portfolio". Since you're on the Professional version, if you want to rebalance against a list of investments, and not one of the allowed target types, you can use your technique.
Thanks,
Mark
