"what if" reports

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby investor » Mon Oct 06, 2008 2:03 pm

Hi Mark - I want to create some hypothetical portfolios & reports by reallocating current assets, adding new ones, etc. What would be the best way to do this? I see from old message boards the suggestion to copy portfolios & make adjustments but just wondering if there's a better way. I did use the rebalancing function but that is not asset specific enough.

Thanks & hope you are having good time off.

Hi Chris,

A couple of ideas... If this is something you want to save, make a copy of your data files, and work on this copy. If you just want to do some quick what-ifs, and don't need to save the work, just turn off "Options / Save Investments/Portfolio On Exit". Then, make all your changes/reports, and when you are done just exit without saving.
Thanks,
Mark
