Unrealised Capital Gain

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Is it possible to report on each investment in a portfolio, showing original acquisition date and cost base, current value and unrealised capital gain i.e. the capital gain that would be triggered if the investments were all sold on the day of the report

Hi amsadl,

Yes. You can do this either in the Portfolio Editor, or in a Custom report.

Portfolio Editor: Choose "View / List Columns..." and add:
    Acquired - Start
FIFO Basis (or whatever accounting method you want)
    Value
    FIFO Unrlz Gain

Custom Report: Create a custom report from the Reports menu, and choose to display the custom fields:
    Date acquired, start (ending)
    Tax basis, FIFO (ending)
    Value (ending)
Tax basis unrealized gain, FIFO (ending)

The Portfolio Editor always displays the information for the current date, but you can set the custom report to any dates you want.
Thanks,
Mark
