Asset Allocation Report Amount Invested

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby ricbertsch » Fri May 05, 2017 12:45 pm

According to the Help Screen for the Asset Allocation Report the Column INVESTED is the
"Out of Pocket Contributions you made into this asset type. The sum of all purchases minus redemptions".

However, all of these funds were not out of pocket, some included mutual fund swaps along with some Buys and Sells within the client's portfolio. I ran an Executive Summary Report which shows the correct amount of Client Funds withdrawn. What if anything did i do wrong since the Total of the plus and minus on the Allocation Report do not add up to the correct amounts shown as Contributions and Withdrawals on the Executive Summary Report.

Hi Richard,

You might like to read this on the cash flow style options/fields:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/hel ... csumm.html

You can see from that, there are different ways to show the in/out amounts. If you're comparing different styles/reports, this equation can help

Invested - Distrib. = Contrib. + Fees - Withdrawals - With-Dist.

Basically, all the "in" - "out" amounts should sum to the same amount.
Thanks,
Mark
