Distribution Summary

I have added fees when manually entering purchases in the buy/sell box. The fees do show in the data register under investments. But they do not appear on the Distribution Summary report. I am assuming this has something to do with the fee not having been entered under a distribution category, but shouldn't it be included in the report?

Hi Lisa,

Commission fees paid on a buy/sell transaction are not distributions. They are commission fees associated with that buy/sell transaction. Distributions are separate transactions for dividends, interest, etc... There is also an "Account Fee" distribution type, but this is different than a commission fee paid on a buy/sell transaction. Commission fees are included in your basis, and you can report on them separately if you'd like, but they won't appear in the Distribution Summary report because they aren't distributions.
