Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Hi -

FM seems a little lacking when it comes to after-tax reporting (useful for retirement planning). Ever think about something like this?

- have a check box on all the reports/graphs to optionally display after-tax values
- to support the above, add a place on the investment property page to choose taxable/tax-deferred/tax-free
- you'd also need a place in FM Options to enter personal tax rates - ordinary income, STCG, LTCG.

Goal would be to show the values as if taxable investments were sold and tax-deferred accounts were withdrawn.

I suppose its just wishful thinking on my part. But intuitively I look at my Roth accounts and know they're worth more than my traditional IRAs. I'm just looking for a way to *quantify* the difference...

Thanks for listening
Bill

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the feedback / ideas. You are quite right, FM does not consider tax implications when displaying/calculating any returns. Everything is displayed in pre-tax terms.
Thanks,
Mark
