Creating Investment Groups

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

I am looking for a program for personal use. I have been using Captool. Is it possible with this program to create CUSTOM groupings (for example international, precious metals, energy) and print performance reports using those groupings?

Hi Ron,

Yes, you can do this 2 different ways.

1) Use sub-portfolios, and organize your investments into these custom groups. You can have as much sub-portfolio hierarchy as you want, and name them anything you want. You can graph/report at any level of this hierarchy.

2) Use "Categories". There are 2 sets of categories, that you can customize. Each group has 25 categories, and you can label them whatever you want. Every investment can be assigned as percentages to each of these categories. The reports can sub-total or list by these categories. See "Options / Category Labels" and also see the "Investment Properties..." dialog to assign the allocation.

BTW, since you are coming from Captools, you might want to read this:

Thanks,
