Hi daveholobaugh,
There isn't a designed in feature for this, but you could use sub-portfolios to help out here. For example, you could set up a structure like this:
- Code: Select all
Master Portfolio
- My Holdings
- Analysis
- Intel
- IBM
- etc...
Your regular account would be the "My Holdings" in this example, where you keep all of your investments for the account, including options and underlying securities. In addition, you could put the option and underlying securities into their own sub-portfolio in the "Analysis" sub-portfolio. You can have the same investment located in multiple sub-portfolios. Since it is the same investment file, whenever you make a change in that investment file, the updated information is reflected in all locations where it is located. Now, you could report on any of the sub-portfolios that contain the specific option/securities you want. You can use the Portfolio Editor to copy an investment from your My Holdings sub-portfolio into the appropriate sub-portfolio underneath Analysis. Make sure you copy it, and not move it. You can use "Edit / Copy" and "Edit / Paste", or you can use drag and drop, while holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard.
