Switching from MS Money to Fund Manager

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby tissel299 » Sun Nov 01, 2009 10:08 pm

I am still in the evaluation phase of reviewing Fund Manager, but, have a question about retrieving transactions directly from my investment firms. Am I correct in assuming that if I was able to retrieve directly when using MS Money, then I should be able to retrieve directly using Fund Manager? When I inquired with the investment firms they could only tell me that they supported MS Money or Quicken for direct transaction retrieval.

Hi tissel299,

Yes, this is correct. Fund Manager retrieves transactions/positions from your broker using the exact same method as MS Money, it is through the broker's Open Financial Exchange Server (OFX). I suspect the broker probably doesn't want to have to support a bunch of different software programs, so they just focus on the 2 largest, but FM can retrieve your data.
Thanks,
Mark
