Minimize/Maximize issue

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Mark,
I recently noticed an odd quirk. When FM is open and minimized and you click on it's icon on the desktop, it opens a duplicate rather than maximizing the minimized edition. This might be something to correct in the next update. I'm running the latest advisor version. Thanks, Rick
PS. I still want to see an ability to report estimated annual income, per unit and total, one of these days. Didn't want you to forget.

Hi Rick,

This is the intended operation. By double clicking the icon on your desktop you are starting a new instance of Fund Manager. Some people like to have multiple copies of Fund Manager running at the same time. This way you can be looking at 2 different portfolio files at the same time. Maybe we could make it an option for those who prefer to just stick with one instance...

Thanks for the reminder on the estimated annual income. We do hope to do something in this area, but it hasn't been implemented yet.
Thanks,
Mark

That makes sense. I guess my only concern was inadvertently having two versions of the same portfolio open and the ensuing possible complications. Maybe there aren't any.

Yes, you would want to avoid having the same portfolio open in 2 instances. You would only get your changes saved from the last one to write to disk...
Thanks,
Mark
