Need help fixing a problem

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

I wanted to fix the cash account in my investment and needed to increase the balance to match the banks balance. I tried by entering a transfer in adjustment but that didn't turn out like I expected so deleted the entry. I managed to make it worse.

The balance was was returned to the original number but the number of shares and share value is now way off. I've looked through the account but can't see why the shares are now about 18 but the value is 1700.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix and if I need to make a cash adjustment in the future the proper way to do that (I assume transfer in /out are not the correct ways).

Hi larryw,

It sounds like you have a non $1 price recorded in your cash investment. Open the cash investment in the Data Register, and select "Prices" for the data type. If any price is not 1, edit it, so they are all 1.

To adjust the cash balance you can use a buy or sell to add/remove shares. Record all transactions in cash at a price of 1.

Also, we have a tutorial on how to track cash, that you might find helpful.
Thanks,
Mark
