Problems with Portfolio Management

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby mayhaw9999 » Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:37 am

I think I have been using FM since the late 1990s and have amassed quite a few .dat files. At present, I have eight .mm4 files that I can open but my Master Portfolio only shows one sub-portfolio. I guess I screwed up when I set up the new sub-portfolios but can't figure out how to change things. I also have two .mm4 files that have no investments. What is the best way to remove those - just go into Windows file management and delete them?

Hello mayhaw9999,

If you have some .mm4 files you don't want to use (because they're empty), yes, you can just delete them from within File Explorer.

Also, you might consider combining all your *.mm4 files into 1 and using sub-portfolios. It makes management much easier. You can do this with the Portfolio Editor. For some instructions, see this tutorial:

Thanks, Mark. That is what I needed. Sorry I didn't find that tutorial on my own.
