What is the safest way to select Currency in Investment Prop

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark

Multi-currency question.
I use "$" for USD and "¢" for CAD, setup as per Online Help (I have asked some similar questions).

Currency pull-down in Investment Properties that the sequence is as shown in the image:

Question:
Is there a difference between the "$" circled in red vs the one in green? Or is the top one circled in red simply the "default" AND SO TO BE SAFE I should always select the $ in green for USD??

Thanks,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Yes, they are different currencies, but with the same symbol. You can't use them interchangeably. I'd suggest assigning unique symbols to each currency, so you don't have this situation/confusion.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark,

I now see the numbering! Indeed, I was not thinking that they were different, just that the #3 was what I wanted to BE the default, not that the Default Currency was #1. Definitely a misread as this is in the first sentence of the help file: "One of the 25 currencies is the "Default" currency."
