Copy Client Folder to Another Computer

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Mark:

I have FM Advisor running on 2 computers separately not networked although I can access both computers remotely if need be. However I noticed that one old client folder is not on one of the computers. It has zero balances since it was closed but I would like to have the account and history on both of the computers. Is there a way to copy that folder and pasting it over to the other computer that does not have the folder? Thanks!

Hi Richard,

By "folder" do you mean "sub-portfolio"? You can copy/paste sub-portfolios across *.mm4 files. Just use the Portfolio Editor, open up the source, and "Edit / Copy", switch to where you want to put it, and use "Edit / Paste".

If your goal is to have the same data on both PCs you may prefer to use the Backup/Restore method instead.

Also, for tips on sharing the same data across multiple computers, please see:

Thanks,
