Problem with restore

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

HI MArk I ham trying to restore my data I have a new folder but am getting message about an error with GERN.dat and multiple entries I have cleared and created a new empty directory Have used the lasr .fmb too
Any ideas

Hi says cannot restore as there are multiple entries which are a duplicate of one of my investments fern.dat
Never seen this error before thanks

Tried to read the fmb file and delete the duplicate can't do that

Hi Alan,

It sounds like your portfolio contains multiple investments with the same filename, and you're restoring to a single/specified folder. This won't work. You either have to restore to the original locations (which puts the same named files in different folders), or use "File / File Operations / Set Data Location..." before making your *.FMB backup file, so that each investment file has a unique name, so there are no conflicts when restoring to a specified folder.
