Import Multiple SubFolio Accounts

Is there a way to import, from a CSV, multiple accounts with different portfolio hierarchies?
For example I'd like to import something like this:

Portfolio Hierarchy_________________Account Number________Portfolio Name
Top Level/Client 1/Client Account 1_____A12301 _________________Portfolio 1
Top Level/Client 2/Client Account 1_____A45601 _________________Portfolio 1
Top Level/Client 2/Client Account 1_____A45602 _________________Portfolio 2
Top Level/Client 2/Client Account 1_____A45603 _________________ Portfolio 3

If not what's the best way to do this for over 350+ new portfolio/sub-folios?

Hi csulbaran,

You can't import only sub-portfolios. However, if you import transactions or positions assigned to non-existent sub-portfolios (based on account number), these sub-portfolio will be created for you (along with the investments and the transactions). Usually this is how you get started. Import the actual transactions/positions, and all the sub-portfolios will be created automatically. The sub-portfolios won't have any hierarchy, but you can arrange them manually after the import.

If you want to do this with a CSV file, I've attached a sample to this post. Use the "File / Import / Transactions / Generic..." command with the format string:

for the attached sample.
