2020.16.2 Install failed

Hello,
I have a brand new HP laptop and I downloaded ver 2020.16.2. The install failed and stopped
when extracting a file with msg "extract error writing to file fb.dat." Never had any problems
before downloading and installing. What is the problem?

Hi Rich,

It sounds like there is a permission problem with the sample data files. If you haven't modified them for your own use, just delete the "Samples" folder at:

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Fund Manager\Samples

and then try installing again. The install program will replace that Samples folder.

I finally installed 2016.16.2. I kept getting extract errors every time I tried to install. Each time I ran the install I got an extract error further down to the next file. This occured about 10 times. Finally got through to the end and installation was complete. Then I ran a backup old/restore new to my new laptop and everything is looking OK so far. Really don't know know what caused the problem.
