restore failed

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi mark I cannot restore from backup I get access denied then message thst csnnot find the user file I created a new location now it restores some but the skips most of the investments not found I have used two backup sources same tresult t hanks alan

Hi alan,

It is likely you are trying to restore to an "original location" that doesn't exist. Try setting your data location (File / File Operations / Set Data Location...), so that all files are in a single folder, and then do another backup, and then restore from this backup, and restore to a "Specified" folder that exists, and where you have write access.

Thanks that worked data was in multiple locations how did that happen

Hi alpappy,

I can't say for sure how it happened, but when you create new investments (whether manually, importing, or retrieving) you specify where they are saved. It is usually best to just always save everything to the same folder.
