futures

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark

Can FM handle futures? They are just like a stock, except that there is a multiplier. The multiplier is for calculating market value and P/Ls. For example, I bought 10 ES at 2000, sold at 3000, multiplier 50, the P/L would be 10*50*(3000-2000), market value was 10*50*2000.

I saw that the instrument type there is "futures" but nowhere to put in the multiplier. I can get around it by using {position x multiplier} as position, however it is very counterintuitive.

Could you point me to the correct direction?

Thanks!

Hi mli2001,

You can track them, but FM doesn't have a concept of this multiplier. It would have to be handled in either the price or shares. The market value is simply price * shares in all FM investments.
Thanks,
Mark
