How to reopen a closed sub-portfolio

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby Exspextations » Thu Nov 09, 2017 9:04 am

I closed a couple of sub portfolios in one of my investment portfolios as I no longer held funds in the currencies for which these were set-up. However, I now need to go back and cross check a few transactions. However, while it is possible to re-open closed investments in a sub-portfolio I can find no way to re-open a closed sub-portfolio. Grateful for any assistance in doing this.

Hi Exspextations,

Investments are stored as their own files, so you can re-open those if you close them. Sub-portfolios are not. They are stored as part of your *.mm4 file, so if you close a sub-portfolio and save your portfolio, that sub-portfolio definition is gone. You could restore your *.mm4 file from a backup, but that will restore everything about your *.mm4 file, not just a particular sub-portfolio.
Thanks,
Mark
