Master Portfolio Q :

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby L Larson » Sat Dec 01, 2007 1:44 pm

Unfortunately still stumbling around that critter the MP. I notice, in the Autoback directory that files have simply a MasterxPortfolio_ prefix, then the stock symbol. Does simply adding that prefix make a stock a member of the MP?

TIA

Hi L Larson,

No, this naming convention is simply to help you in the event you needed to re-create your portfolios from this autoback data. You should not have any of these investments in your portfolio, they are simply backup copies of your data files.

To add an investment to a particular sub-portfolio, you do this from within Fund Manager. Open the Portfolio Editor, and open (File / Open Investment(s)...) or move/copy another existing open investment.
Thanks,
Mark
