Aggregate files

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark. Is it possible to aggregate the investments contained in two or more different files? I have one file for investment portfolio and one file for cash portfolio (with different risk/return profile) and I like it separate. But I would be happy to see those aggregated also. Is it possible or can you add this option in the future? Thanks Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Yes, just report at the top level sub-portfolio, and it will include everything. Do you mean you want to see all investments with the same symbol combined into a single value? If so, then just report at the top level again, and List By "Symbol", which puts all investments with the same symbol together.
Thanks,
Mark

hi Mark, the question is different.
I have two separate files .mm4 I have created and updated since 2004 (A.mm4 and B.mm4)
Is there a possibility to create a new file C.mm4 that aggregate the portfolios in file A and B. Both files has same category labels and currency options.
Thanks

Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Yes, you can. It is usually best to only have a single portfolio file (*.mm4). Use sub-portfolios if you want to separate portfolios for reporting. For example:

Code: Select all
- Top Level
  - Old A Portfolio
  - Old B Portfolio

I would suggest watching these 2 tutorials:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/tut ... video.html
https://youtu.be/p-yjqwyGHtM

They will explain how to use sub-portfolios, and how to merge your A.mm4 and B.mm4 into a C.mm4.
Thanks,
Mark
