entering a share exchange due to a buy out

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

My shares in a company were exchanged at a .55 shares for each share. So now I have a new number of shares owned and I received cash for the fractional shares. I'm wondering if there's a way to enter this which maintains my original cost basis. Or do I have to do a sell of the original company shares and a buy of the new company. What about a reverse split?
Thanks in advance.

Hi chark86,

Yes, just record this as a split, with a ratio of 0.55 for 1. For the partial share sell, just record a sell transaction for the number of partial shares that were sold.
Thanks,
Mark
