FM2016 - unable to update to ver 2016.14.4

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hello,

My installed version is 2016.14.0.100. The updating process to ver. 2016.14.4 looks okay, but when I check program is not updated. I repeated the process several times - without luck....

Hi nebfinfm,

Did you download and run the setup program for the new version? Just go here:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/download.html

and click the blue "Download" button for your version. You need to run that downloaded file. You may be prompted for permission by Windows to make changes. You should see the option to "Agree" to the license terms, and then click "Install". Once you're done start up Fund Manager under "Start / All Programs / Fund Manager / Fund Manager". Check under "Help / About..." and you should have the current version (2016.14.5).

Mark, unfortunately the problem with updating to ver. 2016.14.5 started again. I have my FM password protected - maybe this is the cause of problem...

Hi nebfinfm,

What problem are you running into? Do you get some error message?

The general process is that you visit our "Download" page, and download and then run the setup program. After that, start the program under "Start / All Programs / Fund Manager / Fund Manager".

When I start the program under "Start / All Programs / Fund Manager / Fund Manager" then it is okay. However when the program is started from taskbar then the version is 2016.14.0.

Why is that? nebfinfm

I removed and reinstalled the FM icon from the taskbar - this seems to fix the problem....

It sounds like you may have the program installed in multiple locations. I'm guessing the old shortcut in your taskbar was pointing to the old installation. The shortcut under "Start / All Programs / Fund Manager" is created/updated when you install Fund Manager, so that is a good way to start it. You can make your own shortcut, or a copy, but just check the properties to make sure it is pointing to the current installation.
