Port list history dropdown doesn't show

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Mark , I recently moved to 32'' screen and I no longer get the 20 past Portfolios listed. On some File dropdowns, say when the Chart window is front and center I have 8 listed but on Port Editor I get 12 listed. Can you point me to the appropriate screen settings to get more than the 8 . If the spacing is not user controlled can we get a "more" at the bottom to list up to 20 max option setting in a future release. thanks|fc

Hi fc,

Is the menu off the bottom of your screen? If so, you might need to increase your screen resolution in Windows.

The setting for how many are displayed can be adjusted under "Options / General Preferences... / Menus / Number of Entries: / Portfolios in File Menu". However, if there isn't enough screen resolution, you may not be able to see as many as are being displayed.
Thanks,
Mark

Windows set it for max resolution the monitor/tv can display. The listing goes from top to the bottom of the monitor/tv, whether minimized or full screen. The problem seems to be excessive spacing between lines , like double space on a document. Its the same on all Window options, the spacing between lines is excessive which is nice for readability but not practical. I mentioned before the difference between the Portflio Editor (12) versus the chart screens (8). On Reports the numbers of lines on a page is 1/2 the previous number. The graphs all look correct (the graphics package must be doing it right)which makes since. Maybe its set programmatically for Windows ,and has something to do with a proportional spacing algorithm? I don't know, I'm not a Windows programmer. Does this sound like your explanation that the monitor does not have a high enough resolution to do the job?

There is more than enough space on the list to get the max 20 ports and other items on the list but the program is terminating early at items plus 8 on the graph screens and items plus 12 on Editor screen. Look to find a bug in calculation for populating the list.

Have been trying different fonts and arial 8point looks the best on the graphs but the setting does not affect the Windows display. On default System there is only 10 point and 12 point. If there were an 8 point would it affect the Windows spacing?

Hi mogul456,

For setting fonts within Fund Manager you use the "Options / Fonts..." command in a Graph window and "Options / Report Font..." in a Report window. Neither of these affect the font used in a menu, that is determined by your Windows system settings. Does the Fund Manager menu look different than in other programs using menus, like if you compare it to Notepad's menu? Maybe you can post a screen shot showing the problem?
Thanks,
Mark
