investment name vs. symbol

can something be done (perhaps somewhere in preferences) about this thing that drives me crazy:

POWERSHS DB MULTI-SECT COMM DB PRECIOUS METALS ...
... and believe me the name doesn't end here

vs. seeing just its symbol:

DBP

why do i have to see the names at all ? they show up everywhere ... i'd like to turn'm off - all is done by symbol anyway.

please tell me that there is a way.

Hi jerryo,

It depends where you are looking? If you're looking in the Portfolio Editor, you can customize which columns are displayed, by using "View / List Columns...". If you are looking at a report that "Lists By" "Investment", then many of these reports, do default to showing the name in the first column. I'll see what we can do about making an option to show the symbol instead of the name here. If you are looking in the Data Register, this also lists by name. It would be good to add some options to choose using symbol or name.

I'd like to voice my agreement with Jerry. Display of the ticker symbol as default in all modes, especially the data register, would be preferable. Actually, display of the investment name is of minor importance to me, except perhaps in the reports section.
