Selling a specific lot

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Is there a way, when several purchases have previously been made, to specify which lot is being sold when recording the Redemption?

Hi gmsimon,

Yes. First, for the investment in question, assign it to use the "Specific Lots" accounting method under "Investment Properties... / Other". Now, when you record your sell transaction, you will see a "Specify Lots..." button on the right side of the transaction dialog. After you enter your sell transaction, press this button to be taken to the "Specify Lots" dialog, where you can choose what lots you sold. You can also specify lots at any later time by right mouse clicking on the investment, and choosing "Investment Data / Specify Lots...".
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks, Mark - works perfectly. Now, is there a way to "mass change" all investments to reflect Specific Lots as the accounting method (or do I need to change them one at a time)?

BTW - Really appreciate the quick responses...

Hi gmsimon,

There isn't a bulk way to change existing investments, but you can change the default for new investments under "Options / General Preferences... / Other / Default Accounting Method for New Investments".
Thanks,
Mark
