Some how I destroyed my Investment Goal Labels. Now all I have are the default names. Is it possible to find and restore my old labels?
Thanks.

Hi JFM,
These preferences are stored in the registry. You can restore these from either a backup you made, or from the automatic ones. Just do "File / Restore..." and only choose the "Registry Preferences" to restore, and not anything else.
Thanks but I don't find File - Restore in the Portfolio Editor section - there is a Backup but no Restore. Using FM 11.0 Personal and run it as administrator. In Reports, there is File - Restore but only .fmb files are listed. Even in Backup in the Reports section, the only choice offered is .fmb files. What am I doing wrong! Help! Thanks.
Hi JFM,
A .FMB file is a Fund Manager backup file. You will need one of these to do a restore. You can either use one you created, or one of the automatically created ones. To find the location of your automatically created ones, see "Options / General Preferences... / Data". One you find a .FMB file to restore, you should have a "File / Restore..." menu item from within any window, including the Portfolio Editor window. It is right below "File / Backup..." in all the menus. Please be careful when doing the restore, and choose the "Global Preferences" line item in the "Files in Backup" list, and then choose "Restore Selected Items Only" in the "What to Restore" section.
Got the restore I needed - even brought back some of my old reports that I had also accidentally deleted! Great! However under the Portfolio Editor screen, I do not have a "Restore". Under the File menu it reads
.... ... File Operations Restore Hide to Tray .... .... No Backup! Thanks
Hi JFM,
Great, glad that worked. You previously mentioned there was no Restore, only Backup.... Maybe you said that backwards? There is always a Restore, but if you don't have a portfolio open, then there won't be a Backup.
Duuuuuu My statement of what is on the File menu should show Backup for there is a Backup function shown but no Restore function shown under the File menu of the Portfolio Editor screen. Sorry for the confusion. Does that help explain my situation? I was able to Restore the above material under the Report menu. There both a Backup and Restore show.

Hi JFM,
Thanks, I see this problem too. It is a bug in the Personal and Professional versions. We'll get this fixed for the next release.
