"Unhide" investments...

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby gmsimon » Thu Mar 24, 2011 9:10 am

I used the "Hide Sold Investments" command from the File menu - unfortunately I was at the "Master Portfolio" level when I did that. Now my "Watch List" portfolio (62 stocks, all with 0 shares owned) only shows if I use the "Show Hidden Investment" option & the "Retrieve prices" will not retrieve any prices for that portfolio's stocks. Is there anyway I can undo this other than closing the portfolio & reentering all 62 stocks as a new portfolio?

Hi gmsimon,

If you ever owned them, you could use the same "Hide Sold Investments" dialog again to un-hide them. Since it sounds like you've never owned them, you would have to un-hide them manually. You can do this by right mouse clicking on the investment, and choosing "Investment Properties... / Other" and un-check the "Hidden" attribute.
Thanks,
Mark

That works (although I also had to go into the Internet properties & check the "retrieve price" box as well). Might be nice to have a portfolio-level command to "unhide" investments - even those never owned. Just a thought...

Hi gmsimon,

Glad you were able to correct it. Yes, that would be a good addition...
Thanks,
Mark
